Purpose: Now that you've learned all about hurricanes and the damage they can cause you can take some time to think about what the citizens of these communities have experienced. Try to really put yourself in a citizen's shoes.
Task: Read these survival stories and view some of the clips to get an idea of how you would feel if you were in a hurricane.

Task 2: Please take about 20 minutes to write about the following questions. Your responses should be at least a paragraph for each question (5 sentences) but feel free to write more.
1. What do you think it would be like to be in a hurricane? How would you feel and why?
2. Where would you go for safety?
3. Imagine this was your home. 
How would you feel if your home was lost and all of your posessions?
4. What do you think can be done for these communities when disasters like this happen?
After you have submitted this to your teacher, feel free to discuss your responses with other students and compare them to real life responses of what it is like to be in a hurricane.
